The tournament is organized in memory of János Rigó, to honor one of the most renowned chess event organizers, who for decades held his summer tournament on the shores of Lake Balaton, providing many Hungarian and international players the opportunity to compete in a high-quality chess event under excellent conditions. We wish to continue and uphold this tradition. The event will feature a Swiss-system Open tournament, as well as invitational GM and IM round-robin tournaments. The invitational closed tournaments will have 10 participants each, offering opportunities to achieve GM and IM norms.
