The tournament is organized by the A2D Chess Club - Didáxis Academic Association, with the support of FIDE – International Chess Federation (FIDE Open Aid Project – Freedom Holding Corp), FPX - Portuguese Chess Federation (Portugal Chess Tour 2026), Vila Nova de Famalicão City Council, the Didáxis Teaching Cooperative and the company Peixoto Rodrigues. This tournament is part of the Portugal Chess Tour 2025/2026 of the FPX and will be valid for international norms and approved for FIDE rating.
