GM Kateryna Lagno made the early Day 2 statement at the Women’s Speed Chess Championship, opening her match against Karina Ambartsumova with a perfect 5/5 and then stretching the run to seven wins in a row.

Speed chess matches can move quickly from balanced to one-sided. Lagno’s start made this one a clear storyline almost immediately.
