Elham Amar and Felix Xie take Dortmund lead after Round 7
Two decisive wins created a shared 6/7 lead with two rounds remaining in the Open A section.
Elham Amar and Felix Xie won in Round 7 to take the lead in the Sparkassen Chess Trophy 2026 Open A on 6/7.
Amar survived a dangerous attack before defeating Amilal Munkhdalai, while Xie beat David Navara after steadily opening the kingside. Both leaders entered the round on 5/6.
They are half a point ahead of the chasing group with two rounds remaining. The new lead is a material follow-up to the three-way Round 5 lead.
