Saint Louis and Ural reach FIDE World University Team final
Saint Louis University and Ural State Mining University won their semifinals in Almaty and will meet for the inaugural title.

Saint Louis University and Ural State Mining University advanced to the final of the FIDE World University Team Chess Championship 2026 in Almaty.
Saint Louis defeated the University of Texas at Dallas 3.5-0.5 in the first team match and 3-1 in the return match. Aryan Chopra drew his first game against Aditya Samant and won the second.
Ural drew KNUS 2-2 before winning the return match 3-1. Sergei Lobanov scored two wins against Arystan Isanzhulov across the semifinal.
The final is scheduled for August 9. UT Dallas and KNUS will meet in the third-place match. View event in Calendar.
