Machteld van Foreest wins 2026 Dutch Women’s Championship

Machteld van Foreest won the 2026 Dutch Women’s Championship, defeating Anna-Maja Kazarian 2-0 in the final.

Van Foreest won both classical games of the title match. Her first victory came in a sharp attacking game in which she sacrificed two pawns and an exchange.

The knockout championship was held from July 4 to 11 at the Renaissance Amsterdam Schiphol Airport Hotel.
