Brandon Jacobson moved into sole first place at the XLV Open Villa de Benasque with 6.5 points from seven rounds.

The American grandmaster has six wins and one draw. His only half-point came against Mikhail Antipov in round six, followed by a round-seven win over Bharath Subramaniyam.

Jacobson leads a five-player group on 6/7 by half a point before round eight.
