Pavel Tregubov wins Biel Chess960 Rapid Open with 6/7

Pavel Tregubov won the Chess960 Rapid Open at the 59th Biel International Chess Festival outright with 6 points from seven rounds.

Tregubov secured first place by defeating Surya Shekhar Ganguly in their final-round game. Ganguly and Krishnan Sasikiran finished half a point behind on 5.5/7.

The seven-round rapid tournament used Chess960 starting positions and formed part of the opening program in Biel.
