12-year-old Charvi earns first WGM norm at Montenegro Open

12-year-old FM Charvi A earned her first WGM norm at the 2026 Montenegro Open, scoring 5.5/9 in the Open A section.

The Indian youngster recorded a 2394 performance rating and finished 36th after entering as the 82nd seed. Her nine-round campaign included victories over two grandmasters and a draw against another.

The result also gave the 2014-born player first place in the tournament’s Best Women category and a €500 prize.
