Anastasia Avramidou completes bullet comeback to reach WSCC quarterfinals
A two-game bullet turnaround decided the final Round-of-16 match and completed the Women’s Speed Chess Championship quarterfinal lineup.
Anastasia Avramidou defeated Polina Shuvalova 7.5–6.5 in the Round of 16 of the Women's Speed Chess Championship 2026.
Shuvalova won the 5+1 segment 3–2 before the 3+1 games finished level at 2.5–2.5. Avramidou then won the bullet segment 3–1, taking the final two games to overturn the match.
The result completed the quarterfinal lineup, with Avramidou advancing from the final Round-of-16 match.
