Alireza Firouzja takes early Chennai lead with Round 1 win
The only decisive result of the opening round produced an early sole leader.
Alireza Firouzja defeated Pranesh M with Black in the opening round of the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2026.
Firouzja scored the only win of Round 1. The other three games were drawn, leaving him alone on 1/1 with six players half a point behind.
