Akopian and Mishra lead U.S. Senior and Junior Championships after Round 3

The Senior and Junior sections both have sole leaders after three rounds in Saint Louis, with one perfect start and a half-point Junior margin.

Vladimir Akopian defeated Stuart Rachels in Round 3 to remain perfect at the 2026 U.S. Senior Championship.

Akopian leads the 10-player round robin with 3/3, one point clear of the nearest challengers after three rounds.

In the parallel 2026 U.S. Junior Championship, Abhimanyu Mishra defeated Evan Park to take sole first. Mishra has 2.5/3, half a point ahead of three players.

Both championships continue in Saint Louis through July 23, with Round 4 scheduled for noon local time on July 17.
