Arjun and Firouzja share Chennai lead after Round 5
Two decisive games reshaped the standings, creating a tie at the top with two rounds remaining.

Arjun Erigaisi joined the lead at the Chennai Grand Masters after beating Gukesh in Round 5. The win moved Arjun to 3.5/5.
Alireza Firouzja drew with Dmitry Andreikin and also has 3.5/5. Firouzja is second on tiebreak behind Arjun.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeated Nihal Sarin to move into third place on 3/5, half a point behind the co-leaders. Two rounds remain in the eight-player round robin.
