Firouzja takes sole Chennai lead before final round
The Round 6 results left one player half a point clear, with two challengers tied behind him.
Alireza Firouzja moved into sole first at the Quantbox Chennai Grand Masters 2026 after drawing Nodirbek Abdusattorov in Round 6. Firouzja leads with 4/6.
Arjun Erigaisi lost in Round 6 and remains tied with Abdusattorov on 3.5 points, half a point behind the leader.
The final round is scheduled for July 22. Firouzja faces Arjun, while Abdusattorov also remains in title contention.
