Safal Bora wins 14th New York International on Buchholz
Two grandmasters finished on 7/9, with the title decided by a half-point Buchholz margin.
Safal Bora won the 14th New York International Super Swiss after finishing level with David Brodsky on 7 points from nine rounds.
Bora took first place on Buchholz, 53 to 52.5. His score included five wins, two draws and two half-point byes; Brodsky scored five wins and four draws.
Bora secured the title with a final-round win as Black, while Brodsky drew his last game.
